Pfc. Christopher M. North, 21, was killed April 21 in Baghdad, Iraq while on patrol when he came under attack from enemy forces using an IED and small arms fire.

He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division as a cavalry scout.

North's home of record is Sarasota, Fla.

He entered the Army in July 2005 and began serving at Fort Riley in December 2005.

This was North's first deployment.

North is the 95th Fort Riley Soldier killed supporting the Global War on Terrorism.
