Fort Riley, Kansas

Fort Riley Community Relations Partnership

By | March 23, 2009

Fort Riley has shared a common ground with its surrounding communities for nearly 150 years. Its history is rich with heritage that dates back to Generals "Jeb" Stuart and George Custer during the 1800s, to present day use of state-of-the-art technology.

Fort Riley, its Soldiers, and the famous Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard actively participate in off-post celebrations, parades and exhibits. And we welcome home the 1st Infantry Division Band, which also provides support to off-post events.

Fort Riley speakers offer the opportunity for the Central Flint Hills Region to learn more about the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley. Speakers are available for a variety of events. Speakers are available for ceremonies, community events and local meetings to discuss Fort Riley's past, present and future. Speakers can range from military officials to civilian subject matter experts.

Request speakers by submitting a DD2536 military support request form to 239-3358/2202, by fax at 239-2592, or via e-mail.

Fort Riley welcomes you to enjoy our rich heritage depicted at the various historic sites such as the U.S. Cavalry Museum, 1st Infantry Division Museum, cavalry stables, the post cemetery, First Territorial Capitol of Kansas, and the Custer House.

Additionally, Fort Riley is known for its Open House/Apple Days, ghost tours, and other special events designed to enhance the relationship with the American public.

If you are interested in requesting community support or touring Fort Riley contact Fort Riley's Community Relations Office at (785) 239-3358, (785) 239-2022, or via e-mail. To submit an off-post or on-post request, please complete a DD2536 form, or a DD2535 form for aviation support. Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event date.
