FORT RILEY – A Fort Riley Soldier died of injuries sustained in a non-combat-related incident June 21 in Balad, Iraq.

Spc. Jacob Dohrenwend was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.

Dohrenwend, 20, was an infantryman. His home of record is Milford, Ohio. He enlisted in the Army on May 29, 2008. He was assigned to Fort Riley in October 2008. This was Dohrenwend's first deployment in support of overseas contingency operations.

To date, 173 Fort Riley Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors have died while serving in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
