‘Big Red One’ to bid farewell to commanding general

July 31, 2015 — After two years of servingas the commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, Maj.Gen. Paul E. Funk II is set to hand over command in a ceremony at 10 a.m.,Thursday, Aug. 6, at the post’s Cavalry Parade Field. Maj. Gen. Wayne W. GrigsbyJr. will assume command of the “Big Red One” at the event.
