Military working dog handler gets Bronze Star

Stakes run high as engineers compete to be best

November 19, 2014 — FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. –Bragging rights were on the table as the 5th Engineer Battalion, 4th ManeuverEnhancement Brigade, 1st Infantry Division conducted a Sapper Stakescompetition Oct. 21 to 22. A total of 11 squads from three companies competed in the 5th Eng. Bn.’s Sapper Stakes competition Oct. 21 to 22 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Soldiers were required to create wire obstacles during the competition at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The 5th Eng. Bn. is part of the 4th MEB.
