Spouse and Child Support
Story by: DEP MOB Staff
Army Regulation 608-99 requires Soldiers to provide financial support to their spouses and minor children. This is a punitive regulation; therefore, failure to comply may result in administrative punishment. The amount of support required by the Army when no court order or other oral agreement exists is the Basic Allowance for Housing II (BAH) rate with dependents. If a spouse or dependent child is not receiving the proper support under Army Regulation 608-99, the spouse should contact the Soldier's unit commander. If no response is received then the spouse may contact the Inspector General.
