Fort Riley to honor women’s equality

Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division will celebrate Women's Equality Day with a luncheon Aug. 21 at Riley's Conference Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. and will feature entertainment from the 1st Inf. Div. Band and food sampling provided by Riley's Conference Center.
The guest speaker will be Master Sgt. Denise M. Felton, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team food service operations sergeant.
Felton enlisted in 1995 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. In addition to her role with the 1st ABCT, Felton has held several leadership positions, including platoon sergeant, first sergeant for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 530th Combat Service and Support Battalion, food operations sergeant, senior food service management noncommissioned officer in charge, battalion logistics NCOIC and enlisted aid for the "Sink House" VIP guest quarters at Fort Bragg, N.C.
The master sergeant has attended airborne school and the Warrior Leader Course, as well as the Food Service Management, Equal Opportunity and Contracting Officer's courses. She has an associate degree in business and hotel restaurant management from Leland Stanford Junior University.
