Col. Brian Tempest, commander, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, is presented with the Silver Medal of the Polish Army by Beata Oczkowicz, Under-Secretary of State for Infrastructure, March 27 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The medal recognizes Tempest’s efforts in the field of strengthening multi-national units. Task Force Durable was recognized for its effort in the retrograde of the Polish Army’s equipment from the Ghazni Province to Bagram Airfield. The “Durable” Brigade transported supplies – from food, fuel and ammunition – to the Rosemok vehicle, the Polish Forces’ armored personnel carrier. COURTESY PHOTO
